Our Denominational Partners

Through MHS Alliance, health and human service providers are connected in covenant relationships of mutual accountability and benefit with three denominational partners:

• Mennonite Church USA - www.mennoniteusa.org
• Mennonite Brethren US - www.usmb.org
• Brethren in Christ - www.bic-church.org

These denominational partnerships are vitally important to the essential mission of MHS Alliance and its members — being part of God's work of healing and hope in Christ Jesus. Through these relationships we seek to:

• collaborate in ministry and witness
• practice common core values
• support one another and learn together

MHS Alliance and its denominational partners gather around shared principles, including an understanding that:

• Health and human service ministries are an extension of the Church's mission
• these ministries have an accountability to their founding faith traditions
• mutual accountability values the contribution each part of the Christian faith community makes to the whole

MHS Alliance and its denominational partners demonstrate their accountability to one another by committing to:

• appoint denominational representatives to MHS Alliance Board of Directors
• nurture connections between MHS Alliance members and denominations, conferences and local churches
• tangibly support shared mission and service goals
• be in regular dialogue through board meetings, reports and other channels
• promote and demonstrate core values in policies, programs and services
• collaborate in public policy initiatives
• pray for one another
