We believe that a vital relationship between organizations and their community of faith strengthens both the organization and the church, providing a clear sense of faith-centered mission and identity. Through national sponsorship, MHS and the sponsored organization share in the stewardship of the organization's mission.
Sponsorship provides a durable source of grounding, identity and mission and ready access to professional consultation on strategic direction, governance and organizational development. Details are specified in the bylaws of both MHS and sponsored organizations and usually address appointment of board members, appointment the chief executive officer, approval of the mission statement and approval of changes to the bylaws.
The relationship is intended to be long-term. Changes in the nature of the relationship are made only after thoughtful and prayerful movement through a series of due diligence steps.
